How to guarantee yourself genuine Hoodia ...
Despite marketing claims to the contrary, a valid CITES certificate does NOT guarantee genuine Hoodia. There is only one way to absolutely guarantee that you getting pure and active Hoodia ...
First the issue of the 'CITES'. This is often bandied about on Hoodia websites as proof of a genuine product. In truth, it's no such thing.
CITES stands for "Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora". It is a United Nations (UN) run watchdog, with the remit of controlling movement of endangered species of plants. With Hoodia Gordonii classed as an endangered species, export of it from South Africa is heavily regulated, and all legal exports have to come with a CITES certificate.
So while yes, a CITES certificate shows that some genuine Hoodia has been exported from South Africa ... and while it may even have the companies name on (Note: Most Hoodia supplement manufacturers buy from third parties, so their name won't be there anyway) ... it does not prove that what was exported is in their product. While reassuring on the legalities, it is no reassurance on the content of what you are buying.

Why these two companies specifically? Because these two companies use a test, devised by and licence from Phytopharm to show botanical content of genuine Hoodia and active P57.
You'll see many Hoodia tests performed by a host of other companies ... but only Alkemists and Chromodex have access to these specific tests to show active P57.
In Alkemists case, they also have a photograph of the product on one of the test result pages, as well as noting the batch number. So it's simply enough to check the batch number of the product your receive, against the test batch number to confirm that the paperwork and product match up.
